PURPOSE: A vacuum cleaner is provided to prevent the wall, the floor or furniture from being damaged or smeared, and to reduce noise in contacting the suction nozzle assembly to the wall or furniture by mounting the protection member in the suction nozzle assembly. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum cleaner is composed of a body(100) having a lower cover(120), an upper cover(110), a suction force generating unit generating suction force and a dust collecting bag collecting foreign matters sucked by the suction force generating unit, a filter cover(130) detachably mounted to replace the dust collecting bag and to form the front of the upper cover, and a protection member(700) surrounding the portion of the filter cover or the body easily contacted to the wall or furniture in cleaning and made of soft leather, rag or felt. The circumference of the body, the upper part of the filter cover or the upper cover is surrounded by the protection member, and the protection member is formed around the circumference of the body, the upper part of the filter cover or the upper cover by insert-molding or fastened by an additional fixing member.
