PURPOSE: A microwave oven is provided to steam food by supplying steam generated in a cooking chamber to a steam cooking part, and to cook and steam food simultaneously or independently by cooking with high frequency heating or using steam. CONSTITUTION: A microwave oven is composed of a body(10) having a cooking chamber(11), a magnetron(18) supplying high frequency into the cooking chamber, a steam cooking part(30) formed in the body to form the cooking space divided from the cooking chamber, and a steam guide passage(50) guiding steam generated from the cooking chamber into the steam cooking part. The steam cooking part is composed of a recessed part(31) recessed in the upper part of the body and communicated with the steam guide passage, and a cooking container(32) detachably mounted in the recessed part to contain food, a food supporting plate(33) stored in the cooking container, and a cover(34) covering the upper part of the cooking container.
