PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel capable of improving light emission efficiency by reducing a discharge starting voltage by improving the shape of a discharge sustaining electrode made of a metal electrode, and by stabilizing sustaining discharge. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel comprises a first base plate 2 and a second base plate 4 facing each other, an address electrode 8 formed on the first base plate 2, separation walls 12 located at a space between the first base plate 2 and the second base plate 4 and forming discharge cells, fluorescent layers 14 formed in the respective discharge cells, and discharge sustaining electrodes 20 made of metal formed on the second base plate 4. The discharge sustaining electrode 20 has a paired line parts corresponding to the respective discharge cells, and a pair of protruded parts arranged so as to face each other, extending from the line part toward inside of the respective discharge cells while forming an opening at its inside.
