PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of photographing a still picture during photographing of a moving picture that allows an object being a person to be conscious of photographing of the still picture during photographing of the moving picture so that the object can further predict a timing of photographing of the still picture. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus can photograph the still picture during photographing of the moving picture and is provided with a notice means for informing the object about execution of the photographing of the still picture through a visual sense when a release button 23 is half-depressed during the photographing of the moving picture, and is characterized in to photograph the still picture when the release button 23 is fully depressed. A first notice means may be a light emitting means 25 that is lighted or blinked when the release button 23 is half-depressed or may be a strobe device whose light source unit 27 is popped up when the release button 23 is half-depressed.
