PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drop optical fiber cable from which a coated optical fiber tape can be easily taken out. SOLUTION: The drop optical fiber cable is composed of a cable main body in which a plurality of coated optical fiber tapes 3 are located between separated two pieces of tension bodies 2 and a cover 5 is disposed on the outer periphery of the coated optical fiber tapes 3 and the tension bodies 2, a support line part in which the cover is disposed on the outer periphery of a support line 1 and a neck part 6 which connects the cable main body and the support line part so that the tension bodies, coated optical fiber tapes and support line are arranged in the same flat surface. Therein, notches 4 made of wedge-shaped indent are formed on both sides of the coated optical fiber tapes and on the surface of the cover of the cable main body and, when the major axis of the cable main body on the side where the notches are disposed is L and the width of opening part of notches is W, the relation of L<2.5 W is satisfied.
