PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method and a measuring kit of high sensitivity for measuring a protein in a sample dispensing with an expensive device and tool in measurement, easy in an operation for measurement, very short in a required measuring time, and capable of measuring a micro-amount of protein contained in the sample. SOLUTION: This method of measuring the protein contained in the sample includes a process for bringing the sample, a pigment forming a product associated with the protein, and a water-soluble polymer compound into contact, a process for adding a fixed amount thereof on a porous membrane after the contact, and a process for measuring a colored area on the porous membrane. The present invention provides also the measuring kit for measuring the protein in the sample including a reagent containing the pigment forming the product associated with the protein and the water-soluble polymer compound, and the porous membrane.
