PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated paper for printing, without giving soil on calendar rolls, having≤1.15 g/cm<SP>3</SP>low density, excellent in the degree of gloss and having a good gloss unevenness in the case of treating the coated paper having≥1 layer of the coated layer containing a pigment and an adhesive with a heated soft calendar having resin-covered elastic rolls. SOLUTION: This coated paper for printing, having≥1 layer of the coated layer containing the pigment and adhesive and treated with a heated soft calendar having resin-covered elastic rolls is provided by having≥60 % degree of gloss of the coated paper for printing and≥9A surface strength of the coated layer surface after the calendar treatment by a wax pick test (T 459 om-83).
