A process for producing corresponding alpha-aminooxyketones in high yield and with high enantioselectivity, that is, a process for the production of optically active alpha-aminooxyketone derivatives represented by the general formula (1), characterized by reacting a ketone represented by the general formula (2) with a nitroso compound represented by the general formula (3) in the presence of a proline derivative represented by the general formula (4): (A) wherein R<1> and R<2> are each alkyl, alkenyl, or alkynyl, or R<1> and R<2> may be united to form a ring; R<3> is aryl, a heterocycle, alkyl, alkenyl, or alkynyl; and A is hydrogen, alkoxy, aryloxy, acyloxy, or optionally substituted silyloxy.
