PURPOSE: A system and a method for searching new or moved shops using a telephone number database are provided to efficiently perform search operation by searching the shop newly opened or moved for a predetermined period with a regional search and a business category search. CONSTITUTION: A basic business category telephone number database(600) includes a classification code, a trade name, a telephone number, and a telephone installation/update date for companies registered to a wired telephone company as field information, and stores the added or modified information of the company. An update engine(400) classifies the newly added or modified particulars of the telephone number data into each pattern, and stores shop information to a data mart(500). A search terminal(100) inputs a keyword for searching the shop. A search server(200) receives/converts the keyword into a formatted query and transfers it to a search engine(300). The search engine searches the database by executing the received query.
