PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform good silencing action in a low engine speed zone by increasing volume of a muffler and length of an exhaust pipe at engine speed lower than a predetermined engine speed, and to secure a predetermined output while maintaining a predetermined silencing performance in a high engine speed zone by reducing ventilation resistance of exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust pipe at the predetermined engine speed or higher in an exhaust device for an engine. SOLUTION: This exhaust device for a vehicular engine is provided with a first and a second exhaust pipe 10, 20 and a first and a second muffler M1, M2 connecting exhaust ports 11, 21 of a pair of cylinder banks CB1, CB2. Both exhaust gas flowing in the first and the second exhaust pipe 10, 20 respectively is made to pass through the second muffler M2 after being made to pass through the first muffler M1 and is discharged to atmosphere in the low engine speed zone. Exhaust gas flowing in the first exhaust pipe 10 is made to pass through the first muffler M1 and is discharged to atmosphere and exhaust gas flowing in the second exhaust pipe 20 is made to pass through the second muffler M2 and is discharged to atmosphere in the high engine speed zone.
