PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor comprising a compression mechanism for compressing gas fluid containing lubricating oil and a separation chamber into which the gas fluid compressed by the compression mechanism is introduced to be swirled for separating at least part of the lubricating oil contained in the gas fluid with swirling centrifugal force, wherein a centrifugal separation type oil separating mechanism is provided for achieving high lubricating oil separating efficiency in a wider range of the rotating speed of the compressor while securing its reliability. SOLUTION: The opening area of an introduction hole formed in the side wall of the oil separation chamber is variable with the rotating speed of the compressor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
