PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a powder mainly comprising a metal oxide containing titanium by using an aqueous raw material solution, a metal oxide powder manufactured by the method, and an electroconductive paste containing the metal oxide powder. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the metal oxide powder mainly comprising the metal oxide containing titanium includes (a) a process preparing a raw material solution in which a titanium source is dissolved in an aqueous solvent, (b) a process for forming mist from the raw material solution, and (c) a process for forming the powder by heating the mist. As the titanium source, a titanium chelate compound (for example, dihydroxy-bis(lactato)titanium and/or its salt) is used. It is possible to manufacture a metal oxide powder mainly comprising a titanium multiple oxide (BaTiO<SB>3</SB>or the like) by using a raw material solution including the titanium source and a metal source (barium acetate or the like) of an other metal (Ba or the like).
