<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copolymer which exhibits high capability of generating electricity when it is used as a polyelectrolyte for a fuel battery. <P>SOLUTION: The copolymer comprises: (1) an aromatic segment having substantially no ion exchange groups introduced therein and composing one of the following polymers (A) and an aliphatic segment having an ion exchange group introduced therein, having the main chain that comprises an aliphatic carbon chain, and composing one of the following polymers (B), where the polymers (A) are polyphenylene ethers, polyphenylene sulfides, polynaphthylenes, polyphenylenes, polyethersulfones, polyetherethersulfones, polysulfones, polyetherketones, polyetheretherketones, and polybenzimidazoles, and the polymers (B) are polyethylenes, polyproylenes, polybutenes, polybutadienes, polystyrenes, poly-α-methylstyrenes, polyvinylpyridines, polyvinylpyrrolidones, polymethacrylic esters, polymethacrylic acids, polymethacrylic acid amides, polyacrylic esters, polyacrylic acids, polyacrylic acid amides, and polyvinyl alcohols. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
