<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems wherein an airbag receives resistance from a cover to bias a deploying direction, so that there is a risk that the airbag cannot be deployed uniformly and radially. <P>SOLUTION: This second airbag device 22 for a driver comprises a bag 43 compressed and folded inside a storing container body 41, a cover 44 pressing the bag 43, a string or similar connecting element 45 bound to the cover 44, a string or similar connecting element coupling part 46 coupling the cover 44 and the string element or similar connecting element 45, a vehicle side string or similar connecting element communicating part 47 coupling the other end of the string or similar connecting element 45 with the vehicle body side, thin parts 48, 48 arranged at upper and lower part of the cover 44, and between instrument panel lower parts 32, 32, and gas blow ports 49, 49 for blowing gas for deploying the bag 43.
