<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of replacing existing underground water/gas pipes without excavating ground by improving the reliability of various work methods so far tried for this purpose. <P>SOLUTION: A rope equipped with highly elastic or rigid stress transmission members, which transmit rope traction forces or stress applied to themselves to existing underground pipes, is inserted through these pipes in order to reliably move them and introduce new pipes for connection with them, using a work method to haul the rope or push the existing pipes by thrust applied to the stress transmission members, in addition to hauling the rope. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
