PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging unit and a drive method therefor which realize prevention of a blackening phenomenon without reducing photosensitivity. SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging unit which has pixel parts having photoelectric conversion means PH for converting light to electric signals and read means PD for reading out output signals of the photoelectric conversion means PH and has a signal output node SIG common to the plurality of pixel parts, is provided with a detection means for detecting the potential of the signal output node SIG in a state that the read means PD is reset, a first holding means for sampling and holding the detected potential, a feedback means, and a clip means. Furthermore, the solid-state imaging unit is provided with a second holding means 3 for sampling and holding the potential of a signal line SIG, wherein the feedback means feeds back the potential held by the holding means to the clip means, and the clip means clips the fed-back potential at a prescribed potential.
