PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device enabling a user to check an originator of received electronic mail or the number of electronic mail without requiring the operation of the user. SOLUTION: Upon receiving a piece of electronic mail, the device compares registered data stored in a memory 14 with an originator address of the electronic mail, and if the originator address matches the registered data, an image correlated to the originator address is displayed on a display means 17. Accordingly, the user can easily know the originator of the electronic mail without operating the electronic device.
