PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase in pressure loss during both finely and fully opening an intake air flow control valve and cause no preset-strength tumble during finely opening it. SOLUTION: The intake air flow control valve comprises a casing 11 having an inlet portion 12 and an outlet portion 15 opposed to the inlet portion and a valve element 30 rotatable in the casing. The valve element has an approximately linear valve element passage 60 sectionally shaped almost the same as the inlet portion and the outlet portion, and the valve element passage of the valve element is partially communicated with the outlet portion when partially communicated with the inlet portion of the casing. Furthermore, the valve element has a branch passage 61 for communicating the inlet portion with the valve element passage when the valve element passage is partially communicated with the inlet portion and the outlet portion of the casing.
