FOREARM PROTECTING DEVICE

The invention concerns a forearm protecting device covering the forearms (22), from the base of the elbow (26) to the wrist (24) providing protection against attacks with truncheons, even with bladed weapons in various situations. The device may cover only the cubital part (30) of the forearm which is the vulnerable part. The covering portion (28) is made from composite materials such as: resistant plastic, polycarbon or other lightweight material. The whole device is supported on a wave-absorbing cushion consisting of Kevlar fibers capable of dispersing a shock wave over a larger surface. The covering portion is provided with six longitudinal rods (44) enabling generation of pressures such as in a Yawara type truncheon. The rods have a diameter ranging between 5 and 15 mm depending on the desired degree of protection. The protective device is maintained in the forearm through hook-and-loop type straps (38). The invention also concerns a similar type of device adapted for shin protection.
