An actuating device for vehicle automatic gear has various drives (R.N.D) selected by an actuator/servo (23), in which by deflecting the selection lever (11) along a switch-way in at least two deflection directions, certain drives (R.N.D) of the automatic gear can be selected. The central position of the selection lever allows the lever to automatically return out of both deflection directions and then to select two different drives (R.N.D) in one deflection direction of the lever (11) via stops (15,16; 17,18). The actuator /servo (23) is arranged external of the housing (25) of the automatic gear unit.
