摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication controller capable of coping with even direct connection not through a MODEM by means of a straight cable as the communication controller being used for communication between data processing apparatuses. SOLUTION: The communication controller 1 is provided with: a connection type discrimination means 6 for discriminating whether a communication connection between the data processing apparatuses is a MODEM connection via the MODEM or the direct connection not via the MODEM by means of a response signal from a connection opposite apparatus; and an interface control section 7 for forming the connections suitable for the direct connection when the communication connection is the direct connection.
