PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data reproducer which stores image data with sequence numbers and sound data related to the image data in a memory medium without needing exclusive software, and surely reproduces the image data and the sound data stored in the memory medium by television, and a data reproducing method therefor. SOLUTION: A card controller 8 detects whether a specific folder exists in a card type memory medium 20, and if detecting the existence of the specific folder, displays the image data stored with sequence numbers in the specific folder of the memory medium 20 one after another. For sequentially displaying the image data, it reproduces the sound data stored so as to be related to the displayed image data in the specific folder of the memory medium 20 and, after the complition of the reproduction of the sound data, displays next image data.
