PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recoat coating material composition for an organic-inorganic composite coating film and its coating method, in which a primer and a top coat can be the same coating material and which allow the defects to be corrected by a simple method. SOLUTION: The recoat coating material composition for an organic-inorganic composite coating film consists of a resin component having a Si-OH functional group on the resin side chain, a reaction catalyst, and a coupling agent. The coating method of the organic-inorganic composite coating material is provided wherein, in the step of applying the organic-inorganic composite coating material over a base material coated with the primer, the recoat coating material composition comprising the resin component having the Si-OH functional group on the resin side chain, the reaction catalyst and the coupling agent is coated without sanding treatment of the defects of the film of the coated organic-inorganic composite coating material and then the above organic-inorganic composite coating material is applied.
