PURPOSE: To provide a spherical carbon particle having a size of more than 0.1 micrometer and a spherical beta silicon carbide, which has high strength and rigidity, and low electric conductivity, and is able to be used as dispersion particles of electrorheological fluids, raw materials of composite materials, tip of ball pen, or ball bearing. CONSTITUTION: The spherical carbon particle comprises a spherical carbon core portion, and a beta silicon carbide layer which covers the outside of the carbon core portion as a spherical shell form. The spherical beta silicon carbide comprises a shell layer which consists of beta silicon carbide and has a spherical shell shape, and a hollow space portion which forms the inner portion of the shell layer. |
