AIR CONDITIONER FOR DETECTING AND QUICKLY COPING WITH DEFECTS OF A BLOWER GENERATED IN HEATING AND COOLING BY USING A SENSOR FOR DETECTING PRESSURE OF AIR-CURRENT

PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to detect various defects of a blower such as failure of a motor, mechanical constraint of rotation of a fan, or frost formation on the surface of an outdoor heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner is composed of a sensor installed in at least one of front, rear, and middle portions of a blower(112) mounted in an outdoor device(202) to detect pressure of air-current generated by the blower and generate an output signal corresponding to the detected pressure and a control unit for judging that the blower is not operated normally if the output signal of the sensor is over a pre-set range. The control unit outputs an alarm when the blower is not operated normally and then stops the outdoor device.
