<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture display device by which a user can securely select an icon for function operation without giving a feeling of incongruity to the user when a menu on a picture is selected on a touch panel. <P>SOLUTION: A menu display means for displaying the menu composed of a plurality of icons on the picture for remote control is arranged in the picture display device. The touch panel where the menu displayed on the picture corresponds to a coordinate is disposed on a remote controller. The icon has an intermediate region with a prescribed width in a boundary with the adjacent icon. When the intermediate region is pointed, the icon corresponding to the coordinate of the touch panel is selected in a state that none of adjacent icons are selected.
