<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reducing device and an image reducing method with which a high quality reduced image is obtained. <P>SOLUTION: A start pixel determining part 6 stores pixel data stored in a pixel buffer A11 as pixel data of output pixels corresponding to one selected section in an output buffer 9, until the start pixel of continuous effective pixels is confirmed by the start pixel determining part 6, or until the start pixel determining part 6 redetermines that pixel data to be stored in the pixel buffer A11 is the start pixel of continuous effective pixels when the pixel data is determined to be the start pixel of the continuous effective pixels. Meanwhile, the start pixel determining part 6 stores pixel data stored in a pixel buffer B12 as pixel data of output pixels corresponding to one selected section in the output buffer 9 until the start pixel determining part 6 redetermines that the pixel data to be stored in the pixel buffer B12 is the start pixel of the continuous effective pixels, when the pixel data to be stored in the pixel buffer B12 is determined to be the start pixel of the continuous effective pixels by the start pixel determining part 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
