<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical key having good operability and easily miniaturized, and a portable apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: This mechanical key 15 is provided with a key plate 15a inserted in a key cylinder provided at a vehicle, and a grip part 15b formed to make L-shape together with the key plate 15a. When the key plate 15a is inserted in the key cylinder, the grip part 15b is rotationally operated. In the mechanical key 15, an included angleθof the key plate 15a and grip part 15b is set larger than 90°and smaller than 180°.
