PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amphibious ship capable of decreasing the propulsive resistance at the time of hydroplaning and assuring an excellent on-the-water stability without dropping the running performance on the land. SOLUTION: The amphibious ship 1 is equipped with a hull 2 to be afloat on the water, a plurality of wheels 3a and 3b installed with its one part protruding downward from the bottom 2c of the hull 2, a cover 4 having a buoyancy with its outer shape formed continuously smoothly to the outer surface of the hull 2 in such a way as covering the wheels 3a and 3b in such a condition that the hull 2 is float on the water, and an arm device 5 to shift the cover 4 from the standby condition heaved to over the hull 2 to the serving condition covering the wheels 3a and 3b and vice versa.
