PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shut off water by completely filling underwater joint spaces with a liquid filler. SOLUTION: This water shutoff method for the underwater joint spaces comprises (1) a step of preparing a bag having a cross section area larger than the area of the cross sections of the joint spaces to be filled with the liquid filler for shutting off joints, (2) a step of lifting the bag being folded down into the joint spaces with a weight put into the bottom thereof, (3) pouring the liquid filler into the bag after the bottom of the bag is grounded on the bottom face of the joint space, forcibly opening the folded bag with the pressure of the liquid filler and continuously filling the joint spaces with the liquid filler while pressing the outside face of the bag against the wall faces thereof, and (4) a step of solidifying the liquid filler after completing the filling.
