PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive unit, a lens barrel and a camera which consist of the reduced number of components to thereby be miniaturized and in which inclination of a lens group is suppressed resulting in reduction in friction acting on guide shafts. SOLUTION: The lens drive unit is provided with: the guide shaft 21 which is arranged in parallel with the optical axis of a photographing lens 17 and holds the lens 17; a lens frame 19 holding the lens 17; a stepping motor 29; a lead screw 31 disposed on the edge part of the motor 29; and a flange part 37 which is fixed to the lens barrel 1, wherein the lens frame 19 is moved back and forth by rotating the lead screw 31 by the motor 29, and the motor 29 is fixed to the flange part 37 and one end of the guide shaft 21 is also fixed to the flange part.
