PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover for an opening covering a gap region between a sheet conveying device and a printer, as simple as possible in structure while having a large adjustment distance between a minimum width and a maximum width by improving the type provided with at least one guide element vertically extending in a sheet conveying direction to guide at least one movable side element and a plurality of movable support elements 1 forming an adjustable side plate for sheets so that the support elements 1 and at least one side element cover the gap region with a variable width. SOLUTION: At least one side element and the plurality of support elements 1 are connected to each other, and when moving the side element in a direction of covering the opening with a comparatively large width, tractive force is applied to the support elements 1 by at least one connecting element 7.
