PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily change the setting of separating pressure according to the kind of documents in an automatic document feeding device. SOLUTION: A paper feeding belt 14m of a paper feeding belt mechanism 14c abuts on a separation roller 14d, and the paper feeding belt mechanism is supported to a support member rotatably around the downstream end in a document conveying direction as a fulcrum. A contact member 18 is disposed at the support member movably in the document conveying direction. A presser member 16a pressing the contact member downward is formed on the inner surface of a cover member 16. When the cover member is closed, the contact member is pressed downward by the presser member to change the rotating angle of the paper feeding belt mechanism to thereby change the setting of separating pressure.
