The driver assistance system has at least an assistance function (TA), which can only be activated by the driver under defined operating conditions and a device (58) for output of an activation indication, if this condition is fulfilled. A dynamic module (42) is configured so that it checks at least one vehicle movement parameter (ve) together with information relating to the surroundings (d, vr), in order to determine if a dynamic driving condition is fulfilled and thus whether the assistance function can be activated.
