<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of discriminating surely a line group having a known directivity embedded in a high-degree property-worked material or a low contrast material. <P>SOLUTION: The image measuring machine inspection system is programmed and operated to discriminate one or more of line(s) appeared on a high-degree property-worked or low contrast surface of a work. A line-intensified image is generated from a work read-in image in a learning mode. The intensified image is based on a predetermined technique controlled by a selected value of a parameter. Linear transformation is used to transform the intensified image. A transformed data is analyzed for discriminating a local extremal value corresponding to the line group to be discriminated. A part program command is generated to generate and transform the line-intensified image automatically, to analyze the transformed data, and to discriminate the line group to be detected. A line restricting condition indicating a feature of a consistent line arrangement is used to enhance a speed for the line detection and reliability therefor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
