PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent liquid droplets from being deposited on an unexpected portion by preventing the liquid droplets not impacting on a medium from being suspended, which droplets are often produced when dots are formed over at least one end at downstream or upstream side of the medium by ejecting the liquid droplets. SOLUTION: This liquid jet device ejects the liquid droplets from a liquid ejecting section toward a conveyed medium. In the liquid jet device, the liquid ejecting section ejects the liquid droplets toward at least one of the ends at the downstream or upstream side in the conveyance direction of the medium by thinning a predetermined number of the liquid droplets so that at least a part of the liquid droplets ejected by the thinning do not impact on the medium.
