<p>One aspect of the invention relates to polypeptide multimers that have antiviral and immunogenic activity and compositions and methods for inhibiting viral infectivity. The polypeptide multimers are comprised of at least one monomer with a ratio of N heptads to C heptads of at least about 2:1. Another aspect of the invention relates to antibodies that specifically bind the polypeptide multimers and compositions and methods for inhibiting viral infectivity.</p>
