<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight assembly for improving a display quality, and a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight assembly has a white LED emitting white light and a single color LED emitting single color light. The single color LED emits the light corresponding to the color with the lowest rate among RGB color reproduction rates of the white LED.
