<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a small-sized power converter wherein the total number of elements for use in the converter is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The voltage of a storage battery or a capacitor 2 is used for the voltage of one phase among three phases as almost the half voltage of a DC power supply 1, and an inverter control means 12 that controls voltages of two phases among the three phases of an output so as to be outputted on the basis of the potential of the storage battery of the capacitor 2. As a result, since the potential of the storage battery or the capacitor 2 can be utilized as it is as the voltage of one terminal of a motor 7, two pieces of semiconductor switch elements that correspond to one phase can be dispensed with, thus enabling the three-phase motor 7 to be driven by four pieces of the semiconductor switch elements 8 to 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
