<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for accurately detecting the troubled condition of a filter. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device using catalytic action for burning PM contained in exhaust gas from an engine while trapping it, comprises a forcibly regenerated condition determining means S20 for determining the forcibly regenerated condition of the filter, a temperature detecting means 31b for detecting the temperature of the filter, heat control means S21-S23 for controlling the heated condition of the filter depending on the detected temperature of the filter, counting means S24, S25 for comparing the detected temperature of the filter with a preset temperature in the state that the filter is not heated and for counting the frequency that the detected temperature of the filter exceeds the preset temperature, and a trouble determining means S26 for determining that the filter is in trouble when the counting frequency exceeds a preset frequency. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
