PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field machine (rotor) capable of decreasing the magnetic loss and iron loss and increasing the flux (B), and to provide a synchronous machine employing it. SOLUTION: In the field machine generating a DC field by permanent magnets arranged on the circumference, inside region of the permanent magnets is divided in the circumferential direction of the field machine. Boundary part of the divided regions is located at a position intersecting the permanent magnet and the inside region of the permanent magnets is constituted by laminating bidirectional electromagnetic steel plates having easy directions of magnetization in the circumferential and radial direction of the field machine.
