PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform desired automatic regeneration even when magnetic information and optical information recorded on a film are different. SOLUTION: A developed photographic film 114 including a magnetic recording layer is transported up to an image reading part so as to read a film image. The read film images are sequentially displayed on a TV monitor in accordance with automatic regenerating information. In such a case, the automatic regenerating information is recorded on the magnetic recording layer of the film 114 as magnetic information, a mode selecting means is provided for selecting either of the magnetic information or the optical information recorded in photographing other than a frame image region of the film, and only the information selected by the mode selecting means is used as automatic regenerating information in regeneration.
