PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for an organic electroluminescent element having high luminous efficiency and a long emission lifetime and the electroluminescent element using the material. SOLUTION: The material for the organic electroluminescent element represented by general formula [1] comprises a polymer having a unit in which a group B composed of an arylene group or the like having a substituent group is bonded to a group A composed of a nonconjugated trivalent organic residue and a group C represented by general formula [2] composed of a monovalent organic residue is further bonded to the group B.
