摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize assuring of combustibility by assuring sufficiently an amount of charging of an intake air to a preceding cylinder in a two-cylinder connection state for introducing burned gas drawn from the preceding cylinder to the following cylinder. SOLUTION: A spark ignition type engine includes an operation mode control means having a valve stop control mechanism control means for performing a control of a special operation mode for burning together with a newly supplied fuel in following cylinders 2B, 2C by burning by setting air fuel ratio of the preceding cylinders 2A, 2D as a lean air fuel ration larger than a theoretical air fuel ratio and introducing burned gas of a leak air fuel ratio from the preceding cylinders 2A, 2D to the following cylinders 2B, 2C. A fuel injection direction of an injector 9 provided in the preceding cylinders 2A, 2D is set near an electrode of an ignition plug, and an intake port 11 for introducing new gas to the preceding cylinders 2A, 2D is a tangential port having a small intake resistance.
