OPTICAL TRANSMISSION APPARATUS AND OPTICAL RECEPTION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission apparatus and an optical reception apparatus which are hardly affected by noise intruded from external fields on the way of communication, attain a long distance and high speed communication, and have high affinity with a conventional optical communication system.

SOLUTION: The optical transmission apparatus and the optical reception apparatus employ the intensity modulation and direct detection system and uses part of a pseudo random number generated by an initial key to designate the presence / absence of bit inversion by each bit of transmission data. Thus, the secrecy adapted to the quantum detection theorem is enhanced and long distance and high speed communication can be attained.
