<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keyboard for a piano capable of maintaining a favorable operation characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: As to the keyboard, keyboard balance bushing cloth 5, keyboard front bushing cloth 8, and balance punching cloth 12 are formed of an artificial leather with a suede mode applied on surface finish. Thus, the moisture resistance of the cloths 5, 8, 12 can be improved. Therefore, friction and clearance between the key 1 and each of the reed 9, balance pin 10, and front pin 11 can be suppressed from being varied depending on moisture, and favorable operation characteristic of the keyboard can be maintained.
