PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which can decrease complication in the operation relating to a focus mode. SOLUTION: In a documents and paintings photographing mode to photograph an object mounted on an object mount while a digital camera is attached to a support of a photographing system, auto-focus operation is performed on starting the digital camera (step SP31). When a change in the photographing conditions is detected (step SP38), the auto-focus operation is also performed (SP31).
