PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GdVO4-based light emitting material capable of emitting the three primary colors of blue, red, and yellow without changing the matrix type, a method for manufacturing the same, and a light emitting element using the material. SOLUTION: The GdVO4-based light emitting material is prepared by adding an activator to the material described by the chemical formula: GdVO4, the light emitting element uses the material, and the method is for manufacturing the material and the element.
