#CMT# #/CMT# Gas purification apparatus comprises a tank containing a heater and a catalyst. The heater consists of a heat distributor (1) with a blind bore in the center, into which a removable heating element fits. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Removing oil droplets and vapor from compressed gases. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# Defective heating elements are easily replaced. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a perspective view of the heat distributor. 1 : Heat distributor 2 : Flange 4 : Fins 6 - 9 : Holes for bolts #CMT#CHEMICAL ENGINEERING : #/CMT# Preferred features: The tank has a pressure-tight aperture corresponding to the blind bore. The heat distributor is fitted with a flange (2) at the top which allows it to be bolted to the underside of the tank lid. There is a gap between the heating element and the walls of the bore. This is filled with heat-conducting material. The heater heats the catalyst without contacting it, e.g. by induction or microwave heating. The apparatus also comprises: (a) a gas feed fitted with a water feed; and (b) an ozone generator. Preferred catalyst: The catalyst contains: (a) iron oxide and/or manganese oxide; (b) zeolites; (c) traces of manganese (sic), cobalt, nickel or chromium; (d) finely divided electrically conducting material, e.g. aluminum, copper or silver; and (e) silicon carbide and/or aluminum nitride.
|
