PURPOSE: A method for processing sound source conversion suitable for channel coding in a subscriber-based ringback tone service is provided to regenerate a ringback tone sound source at a better tone quality by converting specific ringback tone sound source data, registered by a called subscriber, into a pattern suitable for the channel coding of a mobile communication network. CONSTITUTION: A CP(Contents Provider)(38) transmits specific sound source data, registered by a called subscriber, to a CPS(Contents Provider Server)(36). The CPS(36) converts the specific sound source data into a sound source pattern having a voice band suitable for the channel coding of a mobile communication network. The CPS(36) provides the pattern-converted sound source data to a sound source server(32), establishes a sound source code for the sound source data, and creates routing information to the sound source server(32). If a calling subscriber calls the called subscriber, the sound source server(32) makes the pattern-converted sound source data outputted and regenerated to calling subscriber in the voice band based on channel coding.
